Martee attended Kent State University for her BSN, and The Ohio State University for her Master of Science in Adult Health & Illness. She has been a nurse for several years, working in critical and intensive care in Columbus at Riverside Methodist Hospital and Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. Martee is experienced in acute and chronic illnesses as well as disease prevention.

Martee is a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP), a certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), and currently works at the Ravenna campus.
