The Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories (ICANL) is the accrediting body for Nuclear Cardiology Laboratories in the United States.

On 11/15/2004, Akron Cardiology Consultants, Inc. received accreditation to become the first physician owned and operated ICANL accredited laboratory in Summit, Portage and Medina counties.

The primary mission of the ICANL is to ensure high quality care by providing a mechanism for nuclear cardiology laboratories to demonstrate having met objective standards for quality care. Accreditation is renewed every three years to ensure laboratories continue to provide quality, cutting-edge care to patients.
